Dr. David R. Sutton, Jr., MD, FACE, is a highly regarded, board-certified expert in Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism. After earning his medical degree from the Bowman Gray School of Medicine at Wake Forest University in 1987, Dr. Sutton returned to his home state of Florida, where he completed his residency in Internal Medicine and a fellowship in Endocrinology at the University of Florida in 1992.
Dr. Sutton has held key leadership roles throughout his career, serving as Division Chief of Endocrinology at both St. Vincent’s Medical Center and Baptist Medical Center in Jacksonville. His decades of clinical experience and leadership have earned him a reputation for excellence, as he continues to make impactful contributions to the field of endocrinology within his community.
As the co-founder of GlyCare, Dr. Sutton has spearheaded initiatives aimed at transforming inpatient diabetes care. He has been pivotal in developing stepwise interventions designed to eliminate non-beneficial variations in the treatment of diabetic patients, reducing harm events, and bridging critical gaps in care. J. Gary Evans, MD

Dr. J. Gary Evans, MD, FACE is a visionary endocrinologist and one of the driving forces behind the creation of GlyCare, a healthcare organization dedicated to improving outcomes for hospitalized patients with diabetes.
After earning his medical degree from the University of Maryland School of Medicine in 1987 and completing his residency and fellowship in endocrinology, Dr. Evans returned to his native Florida, where he quickly established himself as a leader in the medical community.
Recognizing the need to enhance diabetes management in hospital settings, he co-founded GlyCare, where he has played a vital role in developing its patient-focused approach.
Dr. Evans has also been deeply involved in clinical research, serving as the principal investigator for over 80 clinical trials related to diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and osteoporosis. His dedication to innovation has not only improved care for his patients but has also helped hospitals implement the American Diabetes Association's guidelines into clinical practice. Dr. Evans' leadership continues to shape GlyCare's mission to provide exceptional care while adapting to evolving clinical standards and the latest technological advancements.

Dr. Guillermo Umpierrez is a distinguished leader in diabetes care and currently serves as the Medical Advisor to the Board at GlyCare. A renowned expert in endocrinology, Dr. Umpierrez has made significant contributions to both clinical practice and academia, culminating in his role as the 2022 President of the American Diabetes Association (ADA) for Medicine & Science.
Throughout his esteemed career, Dr. Umpierrez has earned numerous prestigious awards, including the Best Clinical Teacher and Mentor at Emory University, and national recognitions from the American College of Physicians, American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists, the Endocrine Society, Diabetes Science and Technology, and the American Diabetes Association. His impact on the field extends beyond individual accolades, as he has helped shape the future of diabetes care through groundbreaking research and innovative practices.
